 The King's Court

A Short Story------

The King's Court. All the ministers and officers are sitting in their seats.

Many people are coming to the king's court today. Many people are coming to the king's court today. Because today is the king's birthday. Therefore, today, the rich and poor, men and women of the kingdom have come to the king's court with gifts according to their ability so that they may give the gifts to the king.

There is a lot of drumming in the courtyard and the king enters the court. All those present at the court stood up and saluted the king.

The king went through the court hall and sat down on his throne and ordered the meeting to begin.

The rich men of the kingdom brought gold and silver jewelry to the king. Some of the men also brought food to the king. Again, some offered variety and stylish dresses for the king. The great priests blessed the king with the chanting of mantras together.

One poor man was watching all this because the gift he brought was worth much less than the gifts of the others.

After everyone had distributed the gifts to the king, it was the poor man's turn.

This time it was his turn. He stood in the middle of the court, fearful and apprehensive. Seeing the poor man, the wise men present in the assembly began to criticize him. Because the clothes he was wearing were dirty and torn.

When the king asks what he has brought, the poor man takes out a plant from his cloth bag and hands it to the king. The members of the court laughed at the tree in his hand.

: Maharaj... I am a poor man. I am giving you this plant as a gift according to my ability.  So that your name will remain with this nature forever. --- the poor man said in fear.

The king rises from his throne and comes down to the poor man. He picks up the sapling from the man and thanks the poor man for giving him a precious gift on the king's birthday. The king put the man in charge of the gardens in the king's palace.

The poor man's heart overflows with joy at the honor he receives from the king.
